Little Choices™ Education
Little Choices™ Education
Practical Education for the Adults who Support Young Children.
Little Choices Education brings the practical, low-stimulation approach behind Little Choices resources into professional education, caregiver education, workshops, and implementation-focused learning. Programs help adults think more intentionally about routines, transitions, communication, regulation, sensory needs, and visual supports by focusing on a central question:
What does the child need in order to better understand and participate in what is happening?
Little Choices Education is designed for early-childhood professionals, educators, family-support professionals, caregivers, and organizations serving young children and families.
Featured Program
Ready Routines: School Readiness & Daily Independence
Practical Routine and Transition Support for Young Children
Ready Routines is a practical implementation framework that helps adults make everyday routines and transitions easier for young children to understand and participate in.
Participants learn how to identify one specific friction point, determine what information the child needs, choose the simplest visual support that fits that need, and use the support consistently.
The goal is not to add more materials. It is to make one routine clearer and more usable.
Who Ready Routines Is For
Childcare and early-learning staff
Preschool and school-readiness programs
Early-intervention and family-support professionals
Professionals supporting young children with routines and transitions
Libraries and community organizations offering early-childhood programming
What Participants Learn
How to identify the specific friction point within a routine or transition
How to determine what information the child actually needs
How to choose between a routine chart, First-Then board, transition support, or individual visual cue
How to use the simplest visual that provides enough information
How to pair the visual with short, consistent adult language
How to introduce and use the selected support consistently
What to observe after implementation
How to decide whether to keep, adjust, or simplify the support
The Ready Routines Implementation Sequence
1. Identify the Friction Point
What exactly is hard?
Define the specific point within the routine or transition that is creating difficulty rather than treating the entire routine as the problem.
2. Choose the Visual System
What information would help?
Determine what the child needs to understand and select the simplest visual support capable of providing that information.
3. Implement Consistently
How will the support be used?
Introduce the selected support clearly, pair it with consistent adult language, and use it predictably enough to evaluate whether it is helping.
Core Principle
Use the simplest visual that solves the problem.
Ready Routines provides professional education and practical implementation planning for routines and transitions. It is not individualized treatment, clinical advice, behavioral treatment, or a complete curriculum, and it does not guarantee behavioral or clinical outcomes.

The Little Choices Approach
Start With the Need
Visual supports should respond to an identifiable communication, information, routine, or participation need rather than being added automatically.
Keep the Support Usable
More visual information is not necessarily better. Little Choices emphasizes selecting the simplest support that provides enough information for the situation.
Consider the Environment
When something is not working, the child is not the only variable. Adult language, expectations, sensory demands, timing, predictability, and the environment may all affect participation.
Support Participation, Not Just Compliance
The purpose of a support is not simply to produce a desired behavior. Little Choices focuses on making situations more understandable, accessible, and manageable for young children.
Professional Scope
Little Choices Education provides professional and caregiver education, practical tools, and implementation guidance within a defined educational scope.
