About the Founder
I’m Adjani Jenkins-Lemar, LSW, founder of AJL Consulting Group and creator of Understood.
After more than five years working across healthcare settings, I recognized that many individuals and families needed independent guidance when navigating complex systems. While hospitals, insurers, and community agencies each play an important role, people are often left trying to understand complicated information and make important decisions without a clear roadmap.
I created Understood to provide independent consultation, case review, navigation support, and application assistance that help individuals and caregivers gain clarity, understand their options, and move forward with confidence.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, trauma, and specialty care settings, giving me a broad understanding of how complex systems intersect and affect individuals and families.
